RECONNECT Project representatives were officially invited to take part to Mediterranean Lighthouse Bootcamp, at ECOMONDO, the most important environment and circular economy promotion fair in Italy.

Ecomondo 2025: A Driver for the Blue Economy and waters restoration

The event, organised by Blue MissionMed Csa in collaboration with European Commission and the Ecomondo Scientific Technical Committee, served as periodic gathering of EU Mission Ocean and Waters-funded projects, dedicated to environment, circular economy and waste recovery.

The 2025 edition, with the Mediterranean Lighthouse Bootcamp, saw an alliance between Interreg Euro-MED and Interreg IPA Adrion programme in order to create strong synergies among projects concerning mediterranean waters and a healthier blue planet.

The Venice Rovigo Chamber of Commerce, attended the event Ecomondo 2025 as partner of  RECONNECT, focusing on forging strategic connections and gathering knowledge on best practices and innovative experiences  concerning environmental policies and industrial symbiosis in the Mediterranean.

The cornerstone of the Chamber’s participation was the high-profile event held on November 5, 2025:”Impacting Together. Promoting cross fertilisation between Interreg and the Mission for Ocean and Waters”, as well as the workshop “From Knowledge to action: Accelerating the Mission ocean and Waters Implementation in the mediterranean region”, that reunited and presented the most relevant project results  among initiaties covering the mediterranean sea and seaside.

The intense networking activity, which also extended into November 6, attending  the main event “Sustainability4BlueMissionMed: Engaging stakeholders for the exploitation of BlueMissionMed tools and results”

Since the primary goal of RECONNECT is to bolster circularity by promoting industrial symbiosis through innovative technologies and sustainable business models, a key focus is elevating the role of the craftsmanship sector (including SMEs and socially innovative practices) as an essential component for sustainable development, with a specific emphasis on the Blue Economy.

“Participation in the Mediterranean Lighthouse Bootcamp at Ecomondo was crucial. This event allowed us to connect with other projects funded by the EU Mission for Ocean and Waters, strengthening the alliance between the Interreg Euro-MED and Interreg IPA Adrion programmes. For RECONNECT, the opportunity to forge strategic connections and gather knowledge on innovative practices in industrial symbiosis is vital for elevating the role of craftsmanship and driving a healthier Blue Economy in the Mediterranean”
