The RECONNECT project consortium met in Treviso, Italy, on October 6-7, to assess the progress made so far and plan future activities.
During these two days of intensive work, the partners had the opportunity to review the results achieved in the first year of the project, share experiences, and discuss best practices to consolidate the initial success.
The discussions primarily focused on defining concrete actions for the coming months, with particular attention to the effectiveness of the technologies implemented and the promotion of circularity in various industrial and social sectors. Another key theme was strengthening sustainable solutions, with an emphasis on creating an economic model that is equitable, resilient, and environmentally respectful.
The meeting marked a pivotal milestone in the consortium’s shared mission: to promote circularity in the Mediterranean region, foster industrial and social symbiosis, and support practices related to the blue economy.
Special emphasis was placed on cooperation between local authorities, institutions, and businesses, with the goal of developing a growth model that can be replicated in other Mediterranean regions.
The outcomes discussed during the meeting are crucial for the continuation of the project, which aims to positively influence local policies and improve industrial practices in line with the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In addition to short-term interventions, a long-term strategic vision was outlined, aimed at consolidating the progress made and expanding the application of circularity principles across the Mediterranean.
